Photos from My Neighborhood
Petra Brown

Opening reception: Friday July 12, 6-10pm
Closing reception: Friday August 2, 6-10pm

The project started as a simple observation - an appreciate of color and texture converging. It has transformed into a multimedia celebration of where I live, my appreciation for its uniqueness, richness, and sense of home it provides me. Photos from My Neighborhood is an alternative archive of color, texture, and shape - how light danced and played with surfaces. Like photos, encapsulating a moment in time, this series captures how a single sunbeam interacted with chipping paint once. Mundane and fleeting as it is, this series depicts Barelas through on resident’s eyes.
