Impossible Sound is a pedagogically experimental seminar that investigates sound as an art historical problem, a material practice, and a cultural form. Grounded in art history and sound studies, they examine analog media, cassette, film, and related formats, as sites where sound exceeds visible documentation and stable ontology. The seminar functions as a reading group: texts are collectively selected in the first weeks and guide an ongoing investigation into sound, listening, and historiography. Through reading, listening, making, and experimentation, the seminar aligns are and historical inquiry with contemporary sound practices and alternative models of teaching and learning
