Party to support the work of Freewheel Mobile Aid - ABQ's mobile resource distro and harm reduction collective. Their bike crew rolls out once a week with trailers full of food, hygiene products, survival necessities, and syringe services. They rely entirely on donations, as well as a hard-working crew of shoppers, baggers, thrifters, and bikers. @freewheelmobileaid
Music will be provided by DJ Thot Daughter (@trashgrl_ ) and DJ Batboy (@badtaste_bat). All door proceeds will go to Freewheel Mobile Aid. We are also collecting supplies: snacks, food (anything that doesn’t require a kitchen or can opener!), blankets, jackets, gloves, hats, etc. Email us with any questions about what supplies are eligible. Movie night at Alpaca
Join us for the third installment of Basement Films 16mm documentary film series.
Getting philosophical this month with Albert Camus: A Self Portrait (1971). This documentary traces the genesis of Camus’ existentialism in his relationship to the geography and culture of Algeria. Born of French parents but growing up among Arabs, Camus’ exploration of the agony of human separation reflects his own dichotomous identity. This film also includes a filmed conversation with the writer in which he talks about his love for theatre, football and the importance of achieving personal happiness in a world in which we are condemned to suffer the agonizing silence of the unknown Universe. Excerpts from his novels and essays are read throughout the film.' Shown with another film, Philosophy: The Questions of Man. Followed by a brief panel discussion. Fun-A-Day 2023
Join us in the celebrating of the art of daily practice! Fun-A-Day artists create every day for the month of January, and the resulting pieces are shared with the public in a huge group art show. This year's show will feature more than 40 artists working in a wide variety of mediums, and the exhibition will span between fourteenfifteen gallery and Alpaca.
Fun-A-Day is a 10+ year tradition at this art space, beginning under The Tan gallery, continued under GRAFT gallery, and the torch burns on in the hands of the L.o.A. collective. Opening Reception: Friday, February 10, 6pm-9pm Closing Reception: Friday, March 3, 6pm-9pm |
