  • work with local charities like Street Safe New Mexico
  • provide an open-minded, experimental space to artists of all levels, including emerging, underrepresented, and experimental voices
  • provide flexible options for exhibitions and events, often outside the traditional gallery format, from one-day popups and short events to full-month exhibitions and programming in an open space format
  • are willing to transform the physical space to suit the artist’s conceptual and artistic vision
  • are a non-commercial space
  • offer classes, workshops and hands-on experiences
  • engage new, emerging, local, established, international, experimental, collectives, academic, DIY and interdisciplinary approaches and artists--but we focus on showcasing local and regional artists and creatives
  • provide professional exhibition space for local BFA and MFA thesis students
  • are funded out of pocket by the L.o.A. Collective members who believe in the value and importance of providing a quality, independent and experimental space in Barelas, in an area with a long history of important creative spaces
