Over the course of our first year in operation, fourteenfifteen gallery has:
Over the past year, both fourteenfifteen gallery and the L.o.A. Collective have worked hard to build and embrace strong community ties. We have worked closely with several collectives and organizations in Albuquerque, and we hope to expand our collaborative connections in 2020. In 2018-19, we had the pleasure of working with Street Safe New Mexico, The Tannex, ABQ Art Walk, The Orpheum Community Hub, Secret Gallery, Basement Films, Small Engine and KIN Collective.
- organized over a dozen exhibitions and art installations, adapting the space uniquely to each artist/group’s vision and needs, which often involved constructing and deconstructing the space itself
- organized a number of 1-3 day special events and popups, including art installations, performance art and experimental audio experiences
- focused on representing a lineup of almost entirely local artists, creatives and collectives
- hosted BFA and MFA thesis exhibitions for local students at the University of New Mexico and Southwest University of Visual Arts.
- hosted hands-on art workshops and free classes
- raised funds and collected drop-of donations for Street Safe New Mexico
- hosted new media, film, and video artists working outside traditional media
- carried on the Fun-a-Day tradition, inheriting the project from GRAFT (following a lineage of local creative endeavors, including The Tan, The Donkey and the Normal Galleries).
